Tottenham Hotspur have begun a late pursuit of Chelsea's Conor Gallagher before the summer transfer window ends.

Gallagher has two seasons remaining on his deal and there's a strong chance he tries to leave Chelsea before the end of the window.

Bayern Munich are also interested in Gallagher, who is valued at £50 million.

Gallagher's workrate and ability to play in a variety of roles would make him a good fit in Ange Postecoglou’s 4-3-3 system.

Wolves have verbally agreed to a $60 million deal with Manchester City for Matheus Nunes.

City have been searching for midfield reinforcements since Kevin De Bruyne signed was ruled out for up to six months with a hamstring injury sustained on the opening day of the season in the win at Burnley.

Wolves manager Gary O'Neil said he "fully expects" midfielder Matheus Nunes to remain with their club despite interest from Manchester City.

Nunes has stopped training with Wolves as he continues to seek a transfer to City.

City delivered an opening offer of $59 million, which was turned down by Wolves.

Nunes moved to Wolves from Sporting Lisbon in August last year for a club-record fee of around €45m ($48.9m) on a five-year contract with an option of a further 12 months.

Joao Cancelo will go from Manchester City to Barcelona on a loan that contains an option to be made permanent. 

The move will be Cancelo’s second loan spell in seven months after he joined Bayern Munich at the end of the previous transfer window.

Bayern declined the option to sign Cancelo on a permanent basis and it was suggested Arsenal would make a move for him this summer. 

Matheus Nunes has essentially gone on strike in an effort to force a move from Wolves to Manchester City.

Wolves rejected City’s opening bid of around £47 million for Nunes out of hand and are holding out for more than £60 million.

Nunes signed with Wolves in a club-record deal worth £42 million from Sporting last summer.

Manchester United are exploring the possibility of signing a left-back following an injury to Luke Shaw.

Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella, Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilón and Barcelona’s Marcos Alonso are on Erik ten Hag’s list of targets.

Ten Hag fielded Diogo Dalot at left-back in the 3-2 win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Manchester City have accepted a bid from Al Nassr for Aymeric Laporte.

Laporte slipped down City's pecking order last season and the possibility of his role being reduced further increased when they signed Josko Gvardiol for €90 million this summer. 

Guardiola also has John Stones, Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji as options in the center of defense.

A $38 million transfer to send Harry Maguire from Manchester United to West Ham as collapsed. Maguire is currently set to remain with United.

United will listen to other offers, but Erik ten Hag has told Maguire there is a place for hi on the squad.

Maguire has two years left on his deal at Old Trafford and would have had to accept a pay cut to move to West Ham.

Maguire started only eight Premier League games last season.

Maguire joined United from Leicester City in 2019 in a £80 million deal and remains the most expensive defender in world football.

Chelsea have agreed to a transfer with Southampton worth up to $73.7 million for Romeo Lavia.

Liverpool had previously had a $76.2 million offer for Lavia accepted by Southampton but the player expressed a desire to join Chelsea.

Liverpool previously lost out on Moises Caicedo after he also wanted a transfer to Chelsea instead of Liverpool. 

Lavia only joined Southampton from Manchester City last summer, making 29 Premier League appearances.

Chelsea and Brighton have agreed to a transfer of $146 million for Moises Caicedo.

Liverpool had a slightly lower bid accepted on Friday, but Caicedo preferred Chelsea.
